Customer Service Black Hole: My Frustrating Search for a Human 😡
I'm writing this to warn others about my terrible online shopping experience. After endless frustration trying to get a simple update, I felt I had no choice but to detail my feelings in a review. This is what I wrote: "Lack of information regarding shipment tracking and the almost non existent availability of a human being to speak with is frustrating. Support email only responds with an email stating that the support email address is not monitored. On line chat with a person is a farce. Tried using online chat to speak with a human and waited 35 minutes without a response, the following day I waited 1 hour and no response. Having a third party do your shipping, which is really just handing off the package to a company that gives the package to the USPS seems idiotic. It needlessly lengthens the time to ship and I find it hard to believe it is cost effective. Not having a human being easily accessed and only making a bot available is not good." After getting a robotic reply to my review, I decided to try one last time to reach an actual person.
Customer: I've been trying for two days just to find out where my order is. Your chat bot is useless and I waited over an hour for a live person who never showed up. Can anyone actually help me?
CS Rep: I am so sorry to hear about your experience. That is absolutely not the service we want to provide. I can definitely help you. Could I get your order number, please?
Customer: It's G-U-S-A-12345. Honestly, it shouldn't be this hard. Your support email says it isn't even monitored. What's the point of it?
CS Rep: Thank you. I see your order here. I sincerely apologize for the communication breakdown. It looks like the package was transferred to USPS, and I have the direct tracking number for you. I have also escalated your feedback about our chat and email system to my supervisor.
Customer: A tracking number. That's all I wanted. Your website's response to my review was just a generic message telling me to use the same broken chat system. You guys really don't get it.
CS Rep: I understand your frustration, and you are right to be upset. Your feedback is valid, and I assure you it will be addressed. I have added a credit to your account for the trouble you’ve been through.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap.
